Aldergrove is not usually considered a hotbed of the counterculture. But for one magic weekend 50 years ago, it was the hippie capital of Canada.

But nothing was as bad as the foretellers of doom had predicted. The three-day event took place on the Victoria Day weekend, May 17, 18 and 19, and festivalgoer Dave Chesney said it was a ton of fun.
